This contributes to maintaining and recruiting the right people to fill metering positions within the electrical and gas supply industries primarily supplying both data retrieval and metering operations operatives.

All operatives are interviewed ‘face to face’ in their home area and if successful stringent checks are undertaken which cover referencing, passports, WRS form completion (Where applicable), driving licences, vehicle road tax, mot and insurance which must include for Business use. A CRB or subject access report enquiry is also taken up in respect of every operative offered employment.

With a dedicated team to care for these vacancies/operatives, regular checks are made on productivity and results to make sure targets are being hit, problems are avoided and individuals are properly motivated.

The cost and target per type of meter are discussed with our client and a two tier charge rate is established which takes into consideration the number of meters that are required to be read/fitted per hour. Another factor taken into consideration when establishing cost is mileage/fuel, as in the main, our operatives use their own transport.
